Camping and the Art of Tent Placement

This weekend, I went on my very first solo-camping trip up to Red Feather Lakes, CO.  I found a dispersed camp site in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest, parked my car and proceeded to scout out the best location for my tent and hammock.  This site was fairly large, so I had my choice of areas.  One of the many definitions for Feng Shui is the art of placement, so I feel that the art of tent placement fits in here nicely.

As I walked all over the site, I found the area with the best view of the mountains, but it was also very exposed and didn’t have any trees large enough for my hammock.  I walked to the back of the site and found an area that felt magical with baby Aspen trees waving their silver dollar leaves, and curious chipmunks zipping everywhere.  It also had a lot of human trash including used toilet paper, plastic grocery bags and a half full plastic bottle of what I can only hope was apple juice, so I eliminated that spot from my options. The number one rule of camping is to leave no trace, and to leave a place better than you receive it.  If you wouldn’t leave a pile of used toilet paper in the corner of your living room, then don’t do it in Mother Nature’s living room.  (steps off soapbox, and kicks it under the table.)

Once I found two trees for my hammock, I set about the task of tent placement.  Placing a tent using Feng Shui is not any different than placing your bed or desk in the proper place.  In fact, your tent is essentially your bed anyway so it makes perfect sense. Luckily, I had internet access, though I’m still not sure how I managed that one, and I was able to look up my best directions.

When dealing with placement in Feng Shui, it is ideal to know your most favorable directions.  This can easily be determined by using one of my favorite Feng Shui websites: http://www.wofs.com.  Select the option for “Feng Shui Tools” and scroll down to the “Kua Number Calculator”.   Plug in your month, day and year of birth, and you will receive your kua number, your four best and your four worst compass directions, so be sure to avoid those!

Since I am still new to this whole outdoorsy life, I cheat and use the compass option on my iPhone.  Don’t judge.  The area that provided me with some support at my back and a view of the driveway entrance to the site was South/Southeast.  My kua numbers for that area relate to success and health.  Score!  How not to die in your tent? Choose the health and success direction.

img_5248As I watched the sun set on one side and the almost full moon rise on the other, I could feel a little fear rising up my spine.   I wasn’t afraid of the potential visits from wild animals as much as I was simply very aware of the fact that I was a single woman, camping alone in the woods.  Also, I had spent the entire day listing to someone playing with their guns by shooting untold amounts of ammunition at nothing in particular, so I was a little on edge.  I could also hear my Mom’s always worried voice in my head, reciting all the worst case scenarios of my situation.

In spite of all this,  I am happy to report that I did more than survive, I had a major breakthrough.  I stood my ground and I did it with a certain amount of defiance.   These are the type of experiences that change us and define us, and when we do them with the intention of creating a safe space, we win.

While I now know that I am totally capable of camping alone, I can say with confidence that it is not something I plan to do regularly.  Being that alone with no distractions, was a type of shadow work that gets to the heart of our deepest fears.  Once we shine the light on these shadows, they lose their power over us.  I use Feng Shui to create safe spaces everywhere I go, and I welcome you to learn how to do the same.

I was inspired to create a little video of my tent placement experiences, so follow me on Instagram @logynnbnorthrhip or @fengshuidesignconcepts to watch them in my stories.  I might even share some of my outtakes!

Loving your home during & after Covid-19

If you are new to Feng Shui, let me tell you, there has never been a more perfect time to get started than now!  With the majority of cities, states and countries “sheltering in place”, people are working from home, homeschooling their children and basically spending every moment inside their homes.  Therefore, it is vitally important that our spaces nourish us in every way possible.  This is actually a wonderful way to define Feng Shui. When used correctly, it brings balance to disorder and chaos.  It creates stability and wholeness.   It invites and nourishes all aspects of life.  It is our not-so secret weapon to thriving and mentally surviving this pandemic.

By now, the reality that we are not getting out of here any time soon, has set in and like it or not, we are all in this together; making the best of a situation that none of us could have predicted.  Our homes can either feel like paradise or like prison.  We have a choice.  This is the time to take stock, and make the changes that need making to create a space that you love.  Feng Shui is a tool of empowerment.  In a time when so many of us feel powerless and out of control to the things happening in our world, it is one small thing that we can all do.  We start within, and expand out.

Having all this “free time” inside our homes, without the typical distractions of life, is eliminating the excuses we often tell ourselves about being too “busy” to do this or that.  As this word loses its power over us, the opportunity to stop procrastinating and take stock of the things that matter takes precedence.  Turns out that this is a great time to organize that closet, drawer(s), garage, guest bedroom, etc. that you’ve been putting off for ages.  It is also a time to take a mental and physical inventory of the things that you see every day, but stopped noticing or appreciating when life became too full of obligations.

Life can be overwhelming, and there just isn’t enough bandwidth to always give it all the attention that it needs and deserves.  When I feel overwhelmed, I find something small that I can do that will have the biggest impact. Since I don’t have a dishwasher, and I don’t wash things immediately after using them, focusing my attention on my ‘sink full of dirty dishes’ is often my favorite place to begin.  My point is, start small.

To help you get started, I am going to share a few Feng Shui pointers that are universally true, will help you feel better in your space and don’t require any previous knowledge or understanding about Feng Shui.

The first thing that you see when you enter your home, has the biggest impact on how you feel while you are there.  From the front door, the ideal room to see is the living room.  We want to invite the chi, which is just an Eastern word for energy, to chill out and get cozy. . . . to relax.   If the room you see does not make you want to relax and unwind,  it may be creating a form of anxiety and restlessness.

Homework #1 – Walk into your home through your front door.  What do you see?  How does it make you feel? Do you feel overwhelmed?  Do you feel calm and relaxed? What can you change?  Are you willing to make changes to feel more productive and focused?  If yes, keep reading.

Homework #2 – I want you to walk around your house and look for doors that hit each other.  Now, in case you aren’t sure, let me explain.   Are there any doors in your home that either hit or have the potential to bang into each other?  It’s more common than you might think. This happens most frequently between a closet door and a bedroom door.  These are called “fighting doors” and they create an on-going, but low-level type of tension.  There are two ways to combat this, but that is something better addressed in a private consultation.IMG_0270

And speaking of doors, it’s best that they be allowed to open fully.  By this, I mean there should not be any furniture, shoes, or toys preventing them from opening, nor should there be any items permanently stored behind them.  This door problem is similar to doors that bang, but it is easier to fix. Homework #3 – if you have something blocking a door from opening fully, find a new place for it, or get rid of it.

There is a rule in Feng Shui called the “command position”.  This means that when you are working at your desk, lying in bed, cooking or even lounging on the couch, you can see the main door to that room.  This is a huge thing in Feng Shui.  I like to compare this rule to the Vito Corleone character in The Godfather.  He would NEVER be caught sitting with his back to any door.  Being in command position demands respect.  It creates a feeling of safety, security and support.  It is so important on so many levels, that I can’t emphasize it enough.  Homework #4 – are you in command position when you are working, sleeping, cooking and lounging? How does it make you feel? Is it possible to move your furniture or yourself in order to be in command?  Are you willing to try it?  If you absolutely hate the way it feels to be in a commanding position, you can always move your furniture back.  Why not give it a try? It’s not like you have anything better to do now that you get to stay home all day and all night.

And lastly, let’s take a look at your stove.  Do all the burners work?  Do you use all the burners?  Is it clean?  The stove, in Feng Shui, is symbolic of abundance and prosperity.  If it is dirty, or if some part of it isn’t working correctly, that will have an impact on the flow of finances.

I do realize that these tips and homework may bring more questions than answers, but the first step is awareness.  The next step is action.  Since I cannot do in-home consultations right now, I am offering remote consultations at a discounted rate.  If you are interested in learning more or feel like you are stuck, give me a call, text or respond to this post.  I’d love to help.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall …

Right, so we’ve all heard the much-quoted phrase from Disney’s Snow White, but what happens when the mirror is not on the wall? What if the mirror is sitting on the floor and leaning on the wall; or worse, what if it is hanging so low that no one can actually see themselves in it?  Did the evil Queen stoop down to look at herself and ask the mirror who was the fairest in all the land?  Hell no!

The reason that I felt the need to make this the topic of this month’s Feng Shui blog is because about a year ago, I saw this Feng Shui aberration at a local business. Since they did not hire me to do a Feng Shui analysis of their business, I couldn’t give them my unsolicited advice, but it has really been bugging me!  The mirror in question was located in the ladies room and it was just leaning up against the wall, showing me my headless body (see photo above).  My first reaction was, did they just move in? No, they had actually been in business for several years.  Did they just run out of wall hangers?  Doubtful.  Was this intentional?  Were they just being lazy?  I will never know, because as it turns out, they are no longer in business here in Boulder. So, before this happens to anyone else here, I am finally sharing my unsolicited two cents on this topic.

There are only two times when it is ok to have a mirror leaning up against the wall rather than hanging on it.  The first, is that you just moved in and haven’t had a chance to hang it.  This excuse has an expiration date of no more than one week, truly.  The second is that you just ran out of wall hangers.  That’s it.  Those are the only two legit reasons.  Wait, I just thought of a third reason.  If you happen to have one of those giant mirrors that is not made to be hung up on a wall, then yes, that is fine, but make sure that you can see your entire self in the damn thing, okay?

Mirrors are the workaholics of the Feng Shui world.  When used correctly, they offer a plethora of benefits. Mirrors can be used to open up a space, to deflect something negative, they can double the number of stove burners that are visible (which can benefit finances) and they can let you know that your boss is standing behind you while you should be working, but are actually looking up shit on Facebook, Pinterest, Amazon, etc.

Mirrors are the heavy lifters in Feng Shui.  They are so important, and can alleviate so much dysfunction and confusion in a home or business, everyone should hire them.  If you would like your home’s mirror prescription filled with specific recommendations, I’d love to help.  Schedule your personal Feng Shui consultation by none other than yours truly.  I have appointments available during the day, the week and on weekends, so let me give your mirrors a job that will make them proud to be of service!  Call today to make 2020 your best year yet!  512-496-9232 or email me at logynnbnorthrhip@gmail.com.

The Feng Shui of Moving

Some people hate to move.  I love it, well, that’s not entirely true. I love the opportunity for a fresh start that comes with moving. I love getting to know a new space, figuring out how to connect with it and learn from it. Looking back through my old address book, you know, the kind made out of paper, I can see every address that I have had since I moved away to go to college.

Including the move that I just made, I will have moved 18 times in 31 years, or on an average of every 1.7 years.  I guess you could say I have gypsy roots; either that or I just like using my home to heal. Either way, I definitely have this down to an art form, and I have learned a few things along the way. I could talk here about all the benefits of moving a lot, including the inability to become a hoarder, but I’d rather talk about using the spaces we live in to heal the broken parts within us.

Consider for a moment the possibility that every home has a purpose beyond the obvious. What if our homes were lined up to meet us, waiting for the chance to get to know us like a potential new relationship partner? What would they want to tell us? What would they want to know about us? What if every single house has a language that until now, we have been deaf to hear? What if I told you that Feng Shui is the language of our homes? Would you be willing to learn that language so that you could communicate and learn from it?

Feng Shui has been called a lot of things over the years, but until now, I don’t think that anyone has taken the time to get to know its true self. There is so much more to Feng Shui than the definition it has been given, and I am here to explore its gifts and its true purpose for showing up for me, for you and for the world.

When we move to a new place, we are confronted by a lot of changes all at once. It can be very chaotic and full of anxiety, but it can also be exciting and mysterious.  Most of the time, it is actually all of the above!  I started my deep dive into Feng Shui shortly after I got married and we decided to buy a house.  Since then, I have been utterly fascinated with everything that my homes have stepped up to teach me, and I want to share this gift with the world.

The number one thing that I have discovered is that there is nothing truly random about the homes that we choose.  There is also nothing random about being attracted to a house with rooms in one place or another.  Why are we attracted to this house more than that one?  If you take away the external factors like cost and location, one house may seem just as good as another.   Usually, we react to a home because of something within us. When we operate on a wholly intuitive level, we fall in love with a home because it reminds of something, someone or some history within us.

Every thing in our home, every room placement, every seemingly randomly piece of furniture or artwork, has a subconscious source.  It isn’t until you work with a consultant  (worth every penny) or chose to dive in on your own (much more difficult), that you learn to see the messages hidden in plain sight.  The truth is literally staring right back at you.  The challenge is to learn to stare back, and see the gift it is there to give.

Let me give a real life example.  One of the things that I no longer attract are homes with doors that fight.  This is a very common design in apartments and houses where space is at a premium.  For some reason, architects frequently create homes plans with a front door that bangs into the closet door behind it.  I am SURE that if they knew that this was a Feng Shui no-no, they would stop doing it, right?!

When I think back to the homes I’ve had that provided the most yelling, arguing and fighting, they all had two doors that either banged into each other or had the potential to bang into each other.  For a very long time, I always seemed to find those places and move into them.  However, since moving to Boulder 18 months ago, I have stopped attracting those type of homes.  It just isn’t an issue anymore.  That is what Feng Shui can do when you use it for healing and self-awareness.

I’ve been using my homes to test out my own blocks, the blocks that I discovered because of the journey that I live daily with Feng Shui awareness and tools.  I can’t NOT do Feng Shui.  It is woven into my DNA after studying it, helping others learn from it and applying it to every aspect of my life for over 20 years.  That is when you know that you are doing the thing that you soul wants you to be doing.  It becomes the thing that you can’t imagine not doing.

My goal is to help others heal their lives using this beautiful and sacred tool.  If you are ready to dive in and explore your inner world with Feng Shui, call me today at 512-496-9232 or email me at logynnbnorthrhip@gmail.com or fungschwaygirl@yahoo.com.  I’m here to help.  Are you ready to wake up and create the life that was meant for you?

The Relationship between San Pasqual & The Oriental Cranes

There is a phenomenon in Feng Shui that occurs when we are too close to a thing to see it clearly.  We become blind to the things that we notice in our daily surroundings and that is one of the benefits of hiring a professional to analyze a space.  A Feng Shui consultant is able to see the items that have become invisible to our clients.  We are not attached so these things pop out at us.  I know all this and yet, I recently noticed something in my own home that I had never noticed before.  As is usually the case, now that I have made the connection, I have made a swift and non-negotiable decision to let them go.

It occurred to me recently that I have been taking the same artwork along with me to every single place that I have lived since my divorce way back in 2002.  One of my favorites was of two Japanese cranes hand-painted on silk.  In East Asia, cranes are symbols of love, happiness, marital fidelity and longevity that mate for life.

Each time I moved, I made sure to hang the cranes in one of the many relationship areas that can be found in a home, and I have always loved it.  I felt like it was a beautiful symbol of what I should want, a permanent mate for life.  I say it is something that I feel like I should want because this is the message that society teaches and preaches.  We should want to get married, have a family and grow old together.  Coming from parents who divorced when I was five, and then getting divorced myself, this idea of relationships has often felt just out of reach for me.

One day, I was standing near the kitchen and for the first time, I noticed the stark dichotomy of the art on my walls.  On the wall opposite the cranes was a framed poster of a whimsical drawing of the Patron Saint of the Kitchen, also known as San Pasqual.  This piece has been in my kitchen as a faithful companion almost as long as the cranes.  However, for the first time, I actually looked at the scene with fresh eyes.  I don’t know a lot about monks, but I do know that they do not typically get married or have intimate partnerships.

In the print, the monk is standing in the doorway of the kitchen, looking outward away from the viewer with a halo of sorts around his head. The kitchen behind him is full of pies, fresh loaves of bread and cats.   The cranes and the monk do not go together.  They are sending mixed messages about this area of my life.  It was truly a holy shit kind of moment!  It’s times like these that I just really get goosebumps about the power of Feng Shui.  It reflects the subconscious like no other healing system I know.

Within moments, I had taken San Pasqual off the wall.   As much as I like my alone time, I am not interested in being the poster child of pious solitude.  It has been a few weeks since San Pasqual left.  I can already feel the shift.  At first, the walls looked forlorn and empty.  Now, they are like a clean slate where anything is possible.  The beauty of life is that we are the creators of it.  We are not at the mercy of the unfortunate events that have led up to this moment in our personal evolution.  Feng Shui is powerful medicine when you are ready to shine a light on your shadow self.  Are you ready?

The Feng Shui Yoga Connection

I’ve been consulting in Feng Shui for almost 20 years and I’ve been a registered and actively teaching yoga instructor for over 11 years, so when I say that Feng Shui and Yoga are yin and yang to one another, it might be worth considering.  Let’s break it down.  Feng Shui tracks the energy and flow of chi or life-force energy within and without a space.  Yoga guides and promotes the flow of prana in the body.  Prana is basically, just another word for chi.  So, Feng Shui is like yoga for your home, and yoga is like Feng Shui for your body.  See what I did there.

I’ve been afraid to write about yoga for years because I know there are so many people out there who are way more knowledgeable about it than I.  However, the one thing I know for sure is that yoga, just like Feng Shui, is something that we all need.  I can’t imagine what my life would look and feel like if I hadn’t found both of these healing tools and used them to create a grace and flow in my life that wasn’t present before.  It is my desire to find a way to combine both of these paths to flow and balance and share them with the world.

If you are already a fan of yoga, then you don’t need me to tell you how much better your body feels after an hour of sending prana and intention into the tight areas between your shoulders or into your hips and getting rooted and grounded in your body.  Doesn’t it stand to reason that a home that has had its chi adjusted would feel just as good?  Of course it does.  It’s the only logical conclusion.

If you are already a fan of Feng Shui, you know how good it feels when you walk into a home or business that uses this practical tool to ignite change.  Trust me, if your house could do yoga, it totally would!  Maybe when it is in balance, that is exactly what it is doing.

Feng Shui is a balance of logic and emotion.  Yoga is a balance of breath and flow.  They are like cosmic twins separated at birth and they belong together.  They are mirrors of one another, and we all deserve to know them, understand them and invite them into our lives.

Power Tools That Create Powerful Feng Shui

I had every intention of getting this written yesterday on the power day of 11-11-11 (2018 breaks down to an 11 when you add it all together), but it was pouring snow and I was busy doing the space clearing that I am about to recommend to all of you.  I have written about space clearings in the past, but not about the quadruple threat of using sage, sweet grass, Palo Santo wood, and juniper.

First, let me explain the benefits of yesterday’s energy.  It is primarily significant because of all the 1’s.  According to Joanne Sacred Scribes Angel Numbers, when we notice the number 1111, we are at a point where our thoughts are manifesting into our reality more quickly than before.  We must pay attention to what we are thinking when we notice them.  Some consider this a type of spiritual awakening to a higher level of consciousness.  For more information, check out Joanne’s blog at http://sacredscribesangelnumbers.blogspot.com

To begin any type of ceremony using Feng Shui, it is good to take a few moments to center and ground yourself into the present moment.  Often, we become overwhelmed and our energy gets scattered.  We don’t even realize how scattered we are until we pause long enough to draw our energy in and ground it down.  Find a place to sit, close your eyes and take a deep breath.  I like to do the mind-calming mudra along with the mind-calming mantra. I couldn’t find a photo of it online that I liked, so I took my own below.  The mantra goes something like this:

Gatay Gatay, Para Gatay, Para Sam Gatay, Bodhi Swaha. I say this 9 times while visualizing my energy returning to me.

Once you are mentally prepared and you have all your ceremony ingredients, it’s a good idea to verbally say a little protection prayer.  The one I like using is from the Pensacola Paranormal Society and is used with permission:

“Mother, Father, God, I command that all negative energy and energy that is not conducive to my well-being be removed through this process. If there are any attached spirits to this home, I evoke Archangel Michael to use his sword to remove them and their tie to this place. I ask for your protection and guidance in the process. Thank you, it is done, it is done, it is done.”

The next thing to do is to crack all the doors and windows in the area that you are cleansing. Then, light up your sage.  I like to use sage first because it clears the vibe of a place. Scientifically, sage removes the bacteria out of the air, and spiritually, it has been used in the form of “smudging” to clear the negative energy out or off of a person, place or thing.  As mentioned above, intention is important, so add your desired outcome into this equation and you will be all set to move on to the next item in your space clearing toolbox.

I do not know if there is a set order in which these things need to be done, but I allowed my intuition to guide me, and it chose the Palo Santo wood next.  This is an item that I only recently discovered.  It offers energetic protection, removes bad energy, uplifts emotions and fills a home with blessings.  The smoke from Palo Santo soothes the energy of a space and adds an additional layer of support and protection.

Say the following intention/prayer outloud when you light the end of the wood:  “I ask that the plant spirit of Palo Santo please infuse this space with blessings.”

The next tool I used was a dried bunch of Juniper leaves.  At the time, I did not know what a workhorse this herb truly is, so I especially want to share it with you here. “Used in purification ceremonies, burning Juniper washes away doubt, hesitation, hostility and judgement. Waft the fragrance of burning Juniper throughout the home to cleanse and protect against negativity.” (https://www.energymuse.com/juniper-smudge-stick.html). You can use it in combination with other smudging herbs as I did, or on its own, especially if you are depleted or unmotivated.  It is all about abundance and good luck, and we can all benefit from extra in those departments.

The final herb that I used is my absolute favorite!  Even its name tells its secrets.  Sweetgrass is often braided and dried and used to attract positive energies.  It has a vanilla, fennel type of scent that sweetens the air and reminds us that we are sacred humans playing a game with energy.

I included physical intentions by adding Young Living oils in the form of Abundance and Joy (self-explanatory), a hefty chunk of Rose Quartz because it symbolizes love and the attraction of more of it into our lives.  The Amethyst encourages healing, trust and intuition. Citrine is an amazing stone that is one of only two that never needs to be cleansed.  Instead it transmutes and dissipates it instead.  It enhances willpower, and aligns the chakras which can get out of alignment faster than newly balanced tires! The last crystal I used was a clear quartz wand.  Clear Quartz is an amplifier and when combined with everything else in my space clearing toolbox, it is the final piece of the puzzle needed to tune into the higher energy of our homes.

The rules of life are easier to follow than we realize.  We are powerful creators who have forgotten the power of our thoughts, and these space clearing tools can act to remind us of our divinity and strength.  It’s time to wake up and remember who we really are.

Using the Violet Flame with Feng Shui

In last month’s blog, I discussed an energy clearing technique called The Triple Grid, and I mentioned that my next blog would focus on something called the Violet Flame.  I am writing today to fulfill my promise.  If you regularly follow this blog, you are most likely aware of Feng Shui, and by that rational, you have an awareness of that which is invisible yet tangible.  What a dichotomy!  How can something be invisible and tangible?

There is one thing that I know every person has felt but never seen and that is the wind.  Wind itself is invisible, but we feel it right?  We see the damage that it can do when it is too forceful, but we don’t actually see wind.  Ahh, but what about tornados?  Aren’t they a visual example of wind?  Are we actually seeing wind or are we seeing the debris that is caught in the wind?  I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the actual translation of the words Feng and Shui are Wind and Water, two things in this world that are both seen and unseen, or tangible and intangible.  Pretty cool isn’t it?  I think it is cool, but then again, I am a Feng Shui nerd!

Now, let’s get back to the Violet Flame.  According to Troika Saint Germaine, the Violet Flame is a Divine Gift and tool that can be used by anyone, and was given to us by Ascended Master Saint Germaine. It is Spiritual Alchemy in action, and it is worth more than all the gold in the world.  What is Spiritual Alchemy?  The word alchemy is defined as the “the transformation of matter”. (Merrium-Webster), so it stands to reason that Spiritual Alchemy will have a transformative effect on our spiritual selves.  This is not to be confused with religion.

As humans, we are composed of four spiritual bodies, including the Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual bodies, or P=EMS. (I made that up so I could remember the order of the bodies!). When we connect to our Higher Self and we ask that the Violet Flame transmutes and transforms all limiting thoughts, habits, & beliefs from all of our bodies: Physical, Emotional, Mental, & Spiritual, we are doing some heavy duty etheric house cleaning, only the house in this instance is our body.  If you want to go a little further, add in the phrase, “in all dimensions, time and space; past, present and future.”  That should take care of any lingering negativity.

While I do not have copyright permissions to use anything from the linked site below, I can include the link in this blog so that you may benefit from the gifts within it.  It is by far one of the very best and most accurate sources on the topic of the Violet Flame that I have ever stumbled upon, and if you follow this link, you will not be disappointed by what you discover. http://ascension-stgermain.com/violetflame-article.html

Another thing that I read today is that  “Energy is never lost nor can it be “deleted”, however, it can be CHANGED into a higher frequency.” (http://ascension-stgermain.com/violetflame-article.html)  I feel like I’ve always known that energy cannot be deleted, but I’ve never thought of it in those terms.  The word delete is such a modern term.  Before the advent of computers, I don’t think that we would have used the word delete as frequently as we do now.

Now, since this is a blog about Feng Shui, and Feng Shui is all about energy, it makes perfect sense to apply this wisdom that we use to clear our body of negative energy, and use it in our homes and offices as well.  If we apply this concept of changing energy to a higher frequency as it relates to the concepts of Feng Shui and the invisible and visible within our homes and our workplaces, the potential for change is outstanding!

Take a moment when you can be undisturbed by loud neighbors or purring kitties, close your eyes and quiet your mind.  Speaking out loud, ask that the Violet Flame descend into your home.  Let its light permeate every molecule of space in, through and around your entire home.  Ask that the energy be transformed and transmuted, cleaned and cleared of all limiting thoughts, habits and beliefs, from all predecessor energy, in all dimensions, time and space; past, present and future . . . You know the drill, especially if you have already practiced what you learned by following the links above.

This is powerful and sacred work that we are doing on ourselves and on our surroundings, but let’s take it one final step further.  What if we started sending this Violet Flame to the places that need it most?  Can you think of a certain house in the United States that needs the alchemy of change to flourish?  I’ll give you a hint.  It is big, and white and it is also called the White House.  What if one by one, we started visualizing the Violet Flame at work in the White House or in Congress?  Holy cow!  Instead of spinning our wheels bitching at one another about politics, we can use the alchemy of the Violet Flame to alter the energy.  I can’t think of a place that needs a Feng Shui adjustment more than the White House.  Talk about predecessor energy!

I am including one other resource for information about the power of the Violet Flame below.  It’s author, Marius, is an artist who creates beautiful artwork of spiritual beings and spiritual symbols.  Many years ago, I ordered a small, 5×7 photo of his Violet Flame artwork and it has helped me to mentally focus and train my brain to “see” the flame in my mind’s eye.

I would also like to add that a few years ago, I was teaching a meditation class at Apple computers in Austin, TX and one of the participants in that class later created his own interpretation of the Violet Flame and gave it to me as a gift.  It is the featured image in this post and one that I cherish to this day.  When we surround ourselves with beautiful energy, beautiful light and the ancient healing gifts of this work and the power of Feng Shui, we create an anchor for more goodness to follow.

Feng Shui for Your Auric Field – How to Clear Your Energy Fields

When something feels “off” in our homes, it can often be traced back to some of the pillars of Feng Shui, things like the design of a room, the layout, the colors we see, or perhaps even a memory of an encounter we had with someone we loved that had a bad ending.  Once you recognize the source of the problem, the study of this ancient practice of Feng Shui has solutions, cures and specific techniques to clear the tangible or intangible problems.

Now, what happens when something feels off within us?  Once you’ve ruled out any sort of cold or illness, it may be time to turn your attention to your energy body.  Whether you are familiar with the an auric field or not, it is there, regardless of your belief or skepticism.  The auric field is an energy field that surrounds each and every human being extending about 3 feet in every direction.  It could almost be described as your own personal cocoon.   It is sort of like our body’s home, if you will.  Or perhaps a better way to describe it would be to say that it is our body’s force field.

However you describe the aura, the fact remains that it is a permeable layer, meaning that it allows energy in and out.  If you’ve ever been around someone who is really happy, that happiness can almost magically rub off on you just by being around them.  You might start to feel better or happier without realizing why.  The cells of your body will tend to gravitate to that sunniness, to that joy-filled person that created this feeling within you.  And it doesn’t even have to come from just one person.  Once you align with an energy that feels good, you become a magnet for it.  Your energy vibration craves it, and the law of attraction teaches that as long as you stay in that higher energy and elevated state, like will attract like and you will attract people that match you.

The same is true if you spend too much time with someone who is angry, judgmental or bitter.  Spending time with this type of people has just as debilitating an impact on us.  The most difficult thing is learning to recognize the difference between feeling your own mixed bag of emotions, or if you have somehow picked up on someone else’s energy.

Are you picking up what someone else is putting down?  Are sure you want that?

Because people lie and hide their true emotions so easily, we might not realize that we are hanging out with someone who isn’t in a good place emotionally.  An emphatic (a.k.a. empath) or a very empathetic person can inadvertently absorb another person’s emotional confusion and sadness.   Just like we enjoy the positive energy of happy people, an unhappy person may also feel some relief from their own low emotions because that empathic companion is probably willing on some level to absorb some of their negative load.

Whether you absorb negative energy on purpose or by accident, once you become aware that something doesn’t feel right within you, the only way to shake it is to do your own personal auric space clearing.  You might even call it Auric Feng Shui!  I know of two very effective tools for doing just this.  One is called the Triple Grid and the other uses the Violet Flame.  If you aren’t comfortable daydreaming a little, this will take some practice.  Visualizing is just intentional daydreaming in my opinion and that is the key to unlocking this tool and using it to feel better.

I use both of these tools regularly, depending on the amount of time I want to spend on it.  The first is from a website called the Alchemical Mage.  For my own auric health, I apply the individual version of this technique, but spoiler alert, you can also use your home, on someone else’s home or some other public place.  You don’t need anyone’s permission or approval either.  This is a technique that I have shared with many of my Feng Shui clients over the years, and it works beautifully!   You can copy the following link to that page here: http://www.alchemicalmage.com/techniques/grid.htm. (Updated 1/22/19:  Since I wrote this blog post, the above link has been taken down by the sites administrators.  If you would like this information, I have the original book with the techniques and I can teach it to you.  Just contact me at logynnbnorthrhip@gmail.com or 512-496-9232.)

I was drawn to write this tonight because I met a friend at a bar near Pearl Street yesterday that has been in business for over 45 years.  It is doubtful that anyone has ever done a space clearing on this place.  I was completely enthralled with the history that must have occurred at this establishment.  However, once I got home, I felt a despair and depression that is not my usual.  I was extremely tired at a very early hour, and when I did wake up, I wasn’t refreshed.  If anything, I was in a massive funk.   I felt like I was riding on an emotional roller coaster and I COULD NOT SHAKE IT.

Finally, halfway through the day, a lightbulb finally went off in my head and smacked me into awareness.  I turned off the t.v. and found a comfortable spot without any of my pets crawling all over me, and repeated the following words out loud as I visualized each step.  The first is for our spaces and the instructions that follow it are for our individual energy fields.

The Triple Grid

From the book What Is Lightbody? and Tools for Living Heaven tape set

This is for keeping areas like your home, workplace or car energetically clean. In the Triple Grid technique you ask the specific group to set up their level of the grid, designating the geometric shape, size and location. Spherical grids are the most stable and easy to maintain, so we suggest working with this geometry for most everyday applications (such as around your home, car or workplace). You will want to renew the grid weekly or when ever you notice the energy getting funky.

“Legions of Michael: grid level one, spherical, my house. Destroyer Force Angels: grid level two, spherical, my house. Circle Security: grid level three, spherical, my house.

“Destroyer Force Angels: please spin your grid, spinning out astral entities, adverse electromagnetic frequencies, fear, disharmony, anger, adverse astrological influences, expectation, frustration, viruses, fungi, bacteria, worry, astral distortions, miscommunication, sadness, enemy patterning, scarcity, loneliness, karmic monads, and anything that distorts the spiritual signature or clear communication with Spirit. Spin out anything that hasn’t been mentioned in this or any other language, but which you know needs to leave the space at this time.” (These are just a few suggestions. Fill in whatever is needed according to your situation).

When the clearing feels complete, continue with, “Reverse spin, same stuff.” When that feels complete, end with, “Stop spin. Thank you.”

“Legions of Michael, please infuse your grid with the energies of Grace, Purity, Faith, Hope, Peace, Liberty, Harmony, Love, Mercy, Alpha/Omega, Rapture and Victory Elohim. Infuse with love, intimacy, the Unified Chakra, being centered, clarity, full connection with Spirit, tolerance, clear communication, health, wealth, following Spirit without hesitation, mastery, sovereignty, living Heaven, and anything else that hasn’t been mentioned in this or any other language, but which you know needs to be in the space at this time. Please seal your grid. Thank you.” (Again more suggestions. Fill in whatever you need, according to your situation.)

“Circle Security, realign your grid to harmonize with upper-dimensional gridworks. Release all distortions and parasites on the grids. Infuse frequencies for clearer communication with Spirit. Seal grid. Thank you.”

The Triple Grid can be done around a location without you being physically there. Try doing it around the mall, the courthouse, the grocery store or the post office, before you get there. Remember that it cannot be used to manipulate others; it just makes particular energies more or less easily available. This is a very versatile technique. We have given you the everyday applications. The spherical geometry is very stable and easy to maintain. Live in it all the time and it will be easier to live Heaven on Earth.

The Triple Grid should NOT be used around your own fields, as the speed with which the Destroyer Forces spin might cause your own fields to fray. (See the Triple/Quad Grid: Individual Field Version for a technique to grid your own fields.)

“Quad Grid” Version

This is an expansion of the Triple Grid, where you request assistance for dealing with the electromagnetic anomalies and surges that are currently very active on the planet. As the planet approaches Zero Point magnetics, electromagnetic surges are very common. This addition to the Triple Grid will help you keep your fields healthy through the planetary shifts.

The Ze’Or Continuum is a group of beings who originate from another universe. They are pure-energy beings, and they are the sentient embodiment of physical forces, such as gravity, electricity, magnetics, thermals, etc. They have come to assist Earth and her inhabitants through the electromagnetic shifts we are experiencing preparatory to Zero Point. They are always available to assist upon request.

Basically, you request the Triple Grid as normal, adding a line in the beginning: “Legions of Michael: grid level one, spherical, my house. Destroyer Force Angels: grid level two, spherical, my house. Ze’Or Continuum: grid level three, spherical, my house. Circle Security: grid level four, spherical, my house.”

Proceed with the grid, requesting the Destroyer Force Angels to spin their grid, the Legions of Michael to infuse it. Then, you request the following:

“Ze’Or Continuum, please set your grid for harmonization and optimization of electrical, magnetic, and gravitational frequencies. Please ensure that my fields remain harmonized with all of the electronic and mechanical devices in my space, and that I and the devices in my space remain harmonized in frequency with any electromagnetic surges, ley-line activity, Schumann Resonance, and any other electro- magneto-gravitational events and conditions occurring in this area. Thank you.”

You then request Circle Security to seal the grid as normal.

Triple/Quad Grid: Individual Field Version

“Legions of Michael: grid level one, spherical, my fields. Grace Elohim: grid level two, spherical, my fields. Circle Security: grid level three, spherical, my fields.

“Grace Elohim: please fill your grid with your energies, releasing astral entities, adverse electromagnetic frequencies, fear, disharmony, anger, adverse astrological influences, expectation, frustration, viruses, fungi, bacteria, worry, astral distortions, miscommunication, sadness, enemy patterning, scarcity, loneliness, karmic monads, and anything that distorts the spiritual signature or clear communication with Spirit. Release anything that hasn’t been mentioned in this or any other language, but which you know needs to leave my fields at this time.” (These are just a few suggestions. Fill in whatever is needed according to your situation). Then, “Spirit: I ask you to release all energies, entities, thoughtforms, emotions, cellular memory, orientations, pictures of reality, devices, intrusions and effects in my body and fields that are not of my core Divine essence, NOW!”

When the clearing feels complete, “Thank you.”

“Legions of Michael, please infuse your grid with the energies of Grace, Purity, Faith, Hope, Peace, Liberty, Harmony, and Victory Elohim. Infuse with love, intimacy, the Unified Chakra, centeredness, clarity, full connection with Spirit, tolerance, clear communication, health, wealth, following Spirit without hesitation, mastery, sovereignty, living Heaven, and anything else that hasn’t been mentioned in this or any other language, but which you know needs to be in my fields at this time.

Seal grid. Thank you.”

The Triple/Quad Grid, Individual Field Version, is a good one to use when you’re outside, when you’re travelling between gridded spaces, or anytime you feel you need to get clearer. It can be infused into a crystal and worn around your neck or on your person; when you feel like renewing the Grid, just request the deva of the crystal to “Renew Individual Grid.” You might need to do a full version once a week-otherwise, renewing it one or more times a day can be done as outlined above and is still effective. You can also add the optional Ze’Or Grid, as outlined in the Quad Grid section of the “Triple Grid: Field Version”, above.

In my next blog, I will share instructions for my other favorite space clearing technique – The Violet Flame.

Until then, enjoy playing with this one and see if you notice a difference when you use it on yourself, on your loved ones and in your home.

The Truth Behind Feng Shui Space Clearings & Blessing Ceremonies

This blog is about one of my favorite things in Feng Shui.  It involves something that most people never think about: clearing the energetic imprint of a space and then blessing it. There are entire books written on the subject of space clearing alone. However, for the purposes of this blog, I am only going to describe the way it is used by the Black Hat Sect Tibetan Buddhist Feng Shui practitioner. Try saying that three times fast!

First, let me tell you why you might want to do a space clearing ceremony. We all know that energy is present in our homes, and I’m not talking about the kind you get from the electric company.  In the form of chi energy, it either meanders through your home or it dashes around like a boomerang.  How it flows depends on how the home is designed, but what about the energy of emotions?  Anyone who has ever gone from zen to crazy in 2.5 seconds knows how quickly and potent emotional energy can be.

In our homes, this emotional energy sticks around, even after the dust of an argument has settled. However, arguments are not the only way that emotional energy effects your home.  Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Has your home ever been burglarized?

Has anyone ever been assaulted in your home?

Has anyone ever died in your home? (very common in older homes)

Was your home built on or near a cemetary?

Is it near a church or funeral home?

When something tragic happens in your home, that energy becomes palpable. I once did a space clearing at a 100 year old house.  The homeowner was aware that several previous inhabitants had died in the home. It may not be the easiest thing to talk about, but it really is important to know the history of your home.  If you don’t know the history, it is better to clear it all out just in case.

In a standard Feng Shui interior space clearing, we use two main ceremonies: Smoking the Orange Peels and Sealing the Doors.  In the Smoking Orange Peels cure, the smoke combined with the Three Secrets Reinforcement intentions, clears out the negative energy  from the space. The second step involves employing the Sealing the Doors cure.   This prevents the negative energy from re-entering.  This ceremony is especially important if your home or business has ever been robbed. I hear so many people tell me that they have been robbed not once, but two or three times. To prevent it from continuing to happen, it is necessary to get rid of that energy once and for all.  And finally, if you live in a home that has unwelcome spirit energy, this is definitely the ceremony of choice.

Once the inside in complete, the real fun begins.  A Blessing Ceremony encourages growth, luck and prosperity. This is often done when moving into a new home or business location, during times of bad luck, as a cure for predecessor problems or when under spiritual attack.  A Blessing Ceremony uses rice, cinnabar, high proof “spirits” and the recitation of the Ten Powerful mantras during the Three Secrets Reinforcements to charge the rice mixture.  The rice then becomes food for the hungry ghosts and represents seeds of blessings and desired outcomes that we ‘plant’ with our intention to create the life we want.

While anyone can learn to do these type of space and blessing ceremonies with a little training, hiring a certified Feng Shui practitioner can take the guess work out of it so that you can focus on the most important of the Three Secrets, the actions that you desire to see made manifest!
